Understanding Developer Sandbox Mode and How to Enable It for Your Account

Using our Developer Sandbox Service, you can fully develop and validate your messaging application.

Test your connection to our gateway

This environment lets you run integration tests in a closed-loop — allowing you to verify your code, delivery logic, and reporting behavior — just as you would in a live SMS environment.

Please note that when your account is placed in sandbox mode, any messages submitted through your software/API will enter our system but will not leave CLiX or reach the intended handset.

While in Sandbox Mode, all SMS sent — whether through API or CXT — will not be delivered to the destination. Instead, they will return a status of ‘Test Success’.

Multi-part messages are not supported while sandbox mode is active. Ensure each test message stays within the 160‑character limit.

The sandbox is designed to help customers test API integrations with their applications, software, and code without consuming credits or unintentionally sending test SMS.

Once you have finished testing through your software/API, we can switch your account from sandbox mode to standard routing, enabling you to send messages to your customers.
